Allan Thomas is a self-taught contemporary realist who focuses on documenting the organic relationships that are present in urban environments. The subjects of his works portray ordinary landscapes that surround us, often overlooked in everyday life. With acute detail and dynamic compositions, Thomas invites viewers to find beauty in the mundane.

“I’m interested in the way that urban architecture can take on the personality of its surroundings, the same way a pair of shoes can take on the characteristics of its owner. For me, an old building, street, or alleyway has a story to tell.”

Thomas’s works have been included in multiple shows across Canada. He is also an accomplished mural painter with working in Canada and internationally for over 25 years.
