Gregory Hardy is a Canadian painter living in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Exhibiting extensively since 1975, his work is featured in many private and corporate collections. This list includes the Canada Council Art Bank, the Art Gallery of Alberta, and the Canadian Embassy, External Affairs (San Jose, Beijing, Warsaw, Sydney, London, Los Angeles). A member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, his rich painting career – spanning four decades – has primarily concentrated on the depiction of prairie landscape. Fleeting weather patterns and the expectation of change are vivid elements in his work, giving a sense of shifting movement to his signature clouds and open vistas. Hardy uses thick paint, sumptuous colour, and gestural brushwork to convey the stark simplicity of the prairie landscape and the drama of its luminous sky.
